Review - Meherbaan : New Song from Bang Bang!

With already a lot of buzz around Hrithik and Katrina starrer Knight and Day remake 'Bang Bang!', the makers of the film continue to keep the fans engaged with release of another song from the action packed film. After  'Tu Meri" becoming a huge hit throughout the nation, a new song 'Meherbaan' was released yesterday.

Meherbaan, totally different from the previous offering Tu Meri, is a soft romantic number. Shot completely in the exotic locations of Greece, the song depicts the sizzling chemistry between the super-hot onscreen couple. Set on the blue seas and white sands, the video captures the romance between Rajveer(Hrithik) and Harleen(Katrina). The song is not just visually attractive but the melody from the singer-composer duo, Vshal-Shekhar is magically engaging. Penned by Anvita Dutt, the song is lyrically very much new and fresh. The singers Ash King, Shilpa Rao and Shekhar Rajviani have well justified the soft music and uber-romantic lyrics with their voice.

Hrithik Roshan never fails to amaze us by his looks and physique and also delivers the perfect expressions on every word and he has continued to do so very well in Meherbaan. Katrina is very well complimenting Hrithik and both look as if made for each other. Katrina's acting and expressions do let you down though but duh! what is so new about it.

Here is the song for you to enjoy:

Bang Bang! is set to hit the screens on the 2nd October which is exactly a month away now and the excitement is growing with every passing day. The film is being produced by Fox Star India and Siddharth Anand is leading the pack as the director of the film.

9 Reasons Why Yo Yo Honey Singh Is Loved

Love him or hate him, but you can not possibly ignore him if you are into Hindi/Punjabi music. Yo Yo Honey Singh is not just the top Rapper of the Indian Music Industry today, but is also the most controversial. Since his entry into the scene from Ashok Masti's Glassy to his latest album Desi Kalakaar, he has gained exponential recognition and has taken the Indian music industry by storm.

Yes he sometimes crosses the line and goes (probably)offensive in choice of his words in lyrics but WTF... We love all those slangs in English Raps then why should we be hypocrite here?

Anyway, I have nothing against those who hate Yo Yo Honey Singh and allege him to be a chauvinist or whatever, here are the ten reasons why he is where he is and is loved by fans.. and secretly by haters too ;)

1. Yo Yo Honey Singh is realistic and believes in living life the way most North Indians are perceived to. Larger than life, loud, not giving damn to anyone and just enjoying, that’s Honey Singh best described for you.

2. Yo Yo is an achiever, a self-made celebrity, if I could say so. I think no rapper after Baba Sehgal has so beautifully mixed rap with basic Indian music. Kudos to Yo Yo!

3. Yo Yo's music is addictive and each of his number would invite or rather force you to listen to it again and again. Well, I don’t think a composer cum singer would ask for more if his music is keeping his fans interested over a period of time.

4.Yo Yo always speaks his mind and that is lovable. Atleast he is not a hypocrite who has sleaze on his mind but would talk spiritual things. Having said that I think the lyrics he chooses are closer to the language being spoken today and that is the reason why so many people connect with his songs.

5. Then the visual effects of Yo Yo's videos are just too mind-boggling. The visuals are so awesome that you would not feel that you are watching a Hindi/Punjabi music video.

6. Yo Yo's music is really peppy and evidently that’s the reason why in such a short span of time, most of his songs have become the hottest selling tracks and most played at any party.

7. Yo Yo exactly knows what sells among Indian music audiences, especially the youth. Having hot babes bringing to screen the innate glam quotient plus with the hot wheels the singer ensures that he doesn’t disappoint his (male) fans.

8. Yo Yo Honey Singh is the only rapper who has managed to give lend his music and voice to a huge no. of big names in bollywood, including, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

9. Last but not the least, the Punjabi within me does not allow me to hate Yo Yo Honey Singh. I would rather not judge him by the lyrics but enjoy the music that he does.

What do you think about Yo Yo Honey Singh. Please leave you comments.

iPhone 6 : Coming Soon : Rumour Mash-up

iPhone 6: What to expect? When to expect?

There have been a number of rumours flying on the web about Apple’s much anticipated handset iPhone 6. It is said to be a major upgrade over the iPhone 5s in terms of performance, size and power.

According to trusted resources, iPhone 6 will have a 4.7-inch model, which will come with a 2100mAh battery.  Although, this contradicts earlier claims of having 1800mAh or 1900mAh battery packed under the hood.

There is also a bigger model of the phone rumoured to be called iPhone Air. According to earlier leaks, iPhone Air is said to have a 2500mAh battery to power the bigger 5.5inch RETINA display. This model is probably Apple’s attempt to enter into competition against the Samsung’s Galaxy Note Series. If Apple prices it well, Samsung might get to bare some damage.

If the purported battery capacity of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 comes out to be 2100mAh battery, it will be a major upgrade over the battery capacities of the iPhone 5s (1560mAh) and iPhone 5c (1510mAh).

In terms of performance, both the Models will be run on new A8 chips which would be much faster than the iphone 5 and 5s. Earlier this week, a report even claimed that the two iPhone 6 models - with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays - would have different processors and touch modules.

Multiple reports on Tuesday suggested that Apple would unveil the iPhone 6 on September 9. The date was almost in-line with previous leaks that pointed to a mid-September launch for the next iPhone 6 models. If true, the launch date would correspond to the second Tuesday of September, a day that Apple used to unveil the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s last year.

Roar: Tigers of the Sunderbans - Trailer review

Roar: Tigers of the Sunderbans - Trailer review

Launched by none other than Salman Khan, trailer of Kamal Sadanah’s upcoming thriller Roar: Tigers of the Sunderbans is out. The makers of the film are going to take you to the road less traveled, the world less visited. Roar is a wildlife thriller with a man-eater tigress as the center of the plot. Some are there to kill it; some are there to track it and some to save it. With all these people crossing paths in search of one.. Roar happens.

With a daring plot, the makers have gone even further a step by involving new faces in the film. The film casts Jallandhar based bodybuilder, Varinder Ghuman who claims to be the first vegetarian bodybuilder that there ever is. The film exploits a rather Hemingway theme of man's relationship with nature, and in this case, with the beast, the tiger.

The film has been shot in the Sunderbans in India and Bangladesh and is full of out of the world sequences of man eating Tigers attacking men, leaping onto boats,  crocs attacking underwater and much more. The VFX look excellent and carefully worked upon. I don’t want to compare it with Life of Pie, but an Indian film has gone quite close and that makes me feel proud.

Here is the trailer for you to watch for yourself!!

Roar, produced by Abis Razvi films and directed by Kamal Sadanah is slated to hit the theaters on 19th September.

Please leave your comments below, on what you think about the film and the trailer.

Arijit's new song - Tere Hoke Rahenge

Tere Hoke Rahenge -  Arijit's new song!!

From Raja Natwarlal - Starring: Emraan Hashmi and Humaima Mallick

Arijit Singh is back with the season's first Monsoon Romantic number -  Tere Hoke Rahenge from Emraan Hashmi's next film Raja Natwarlal.

The song is sung by Arijit Singh of Ashiqui 2 fame. His voice is as magical as ever and this song has a new energy in it. Its very melodious and quite hummable. The lyrics are contemporary and relative. When it comes to Emraan's movies, we know that they have winning tracks and to top it all this one is in the voice of Arijit Singh.

Humaima Mallick is looking gorgeous with a smile to die for. Emraan-Humaima seem to have a promising chemistry..
Here now I will leave you to enjoy the song.:

Review - LG G3

Review - LG G3: The most awaited flagship phone of 2014

Priced: ~Rs. 45000

Key Features: 5.5-inch QHD(Quad HD) screen; Android 4.4.2 with smart tweaks; 13MP camera with OIS and Laser Autofocus.

In a series of flagship launches at and around 2014 mobile congress, one giant was missing from the action, LG. After a wait of a few months, LG has jumped into the market as one of the last manufacturer to launch its top end phone. Well, the wait has been fruitful indeed and we have the LG G3, the improved successor of LG's well received G2.

Design:

With metal like finish at the back and a brilliant 5.5 QHD screen, G3 is a massive phone that still manages to look big, not too big. Weighing just 149gms, very close to and even lesser than competition, G3 packs a 1/2 inch lager screen. The ergonomics are really impressive with that a big screen, thanks to the slim bezel and the slick design with rear control buttons. The buttons at back, criticized by many, actually are better in practice. These are easy to reach(no matter you are left handed or right) and have lesser incidents of accidental press while holding the phone. Also, the buttons are quite elegant this time around compared to the ones on G2.
The 3.5mm jack placed at bottom not only make it easier to hold and use the phone with headphones plugged in  but are also aesthetically more pleasing.

Screen Quality:

LG has totally killed the competition when it comes to its brilliantly sharp 5.5inch QHD screen. The 2560 X 1440 QHD unit manages to provide amazingly sharp 534ppi - compared to iPhone's Retina Display(326ppi) and Galaxy S5's S-AMOLED(432ppi).
As we see, G3 is a winner in screen sharpness, but when it comes to the brightness and contrast ratio, it does not excel. It seems enough to use for a sunny day but clearly dimmer than the rivals. Although, for a everyday use, G3's screen is nothing short of excellent. It is bright enough for full daylight, has good viewing angles and colors appear natural.
The touch is smooth as butter and very responsive.

User Interface:

As "Simple is the new Smart" has been LG's Philosophy while making the G3, they have well applied it to the design as well as to the totally revamped Optimus U/I layered over the androids latest KitKat 4.4.2.
LG has gone flatter and quite subtle this time around in U/I design that makes it looks very contemporary and smart. A split screen mode has been added to it to run two apps simultaneously. This is very pleasant to use on G3's fairly big screen, although it is restricted to some apps only.
There is a new Smart Keyboard added to the device. It adapts your typing habits and frequent mistakes and tries to prevent similar mistakes from being made again and again.

Camera:

LG G3 is shipped with a 13MP rear camera with a dual tone flashlight. Just like other top-end smartphones with similar camera unit, G3 is capable of excellent pictures in good daylight. For the night or low light shots, LG has integrated a Laser Autofocus with the the camera. This basically sends multiple beams of light for the contrast detection to focus on, in low light conditions. Laser Autofocus, enables the G3 to take good low light pictures that too as quickly as it takes in good light conditions.
The front camera with 2.1MP is a true selfie camera. It takes also takes good lowlight pictures and had gesture and voice control as well.
Keeping it true to "Simple is the new Smart", G3 has a very easy to use camera application. It has 4 modes - AutoFocus, Magic Focus(Macro), Panorama and Dual Mode(Front and Rear camera click at the same time).

Battery Life:

G3 is powered by a good 3000mAh and hence, it is expected to last long on a single recharge. This is however, not the case in actual use. Not that the battery life of the G3 is bad, but, it is just about average. It cane be blamed majorly on the power thirsty QHD screen. Lowering the brightness of the screen when using indoors, helps a lot.

Verdict : ****1/2

LG's latest flagship is best ever made by them so far, with no real weakness. The screen is right from the future but we could have happily managed with the Full HD 1080p screen and rather have a better battery life. The phone otherwise is very close to Perfect..

LG G3 should be a serious consideration when you plan to spend for a flagship device.

Technical Specifications:

Kick sure does give a KICK!!

Review: Kick sure does give a Kick!!

****

Critics may have been after Salman's life for making movies without a logic, only doing remakes of sorts and using his stardom to rake in moolah with similar looking masala films, but, one thing is to be put straight - his last flop-considered venture, Jai Ho, collected well over 100 cr which others find difficult(considered a milestone by many). So Salman's films are that way. If you look for anything other than entertainment, your intelligence is to be doubted. Kick is the same and has Blockbuster written all over it but looking for logic might be like expecting too much. Although, this film might give you a chance to shed a couple tears.

Plot:

Devi Lal Singh(Salman Khan) is an extraordinary guy who has topped all the exams he appeared in and broken all the bones that came his way. He is jobless, because he has resigned from 32 jobs for not getting a kick in them. He has beaten people, been to jail, does menacing stunts and is a raging alcoholic but 'dil ka bohot achha hai'(is very good at heart).

Under unusual circumstances, Devi falls for a Psychiatrist Dr. Shaina Mehra(Jacqueline Fernandes). They abruptly separate later because, due to his Kick issues, Devi could not settle for a job while Shaina was planning to get married to him.

Now settled in Poland, Shaina dictates her short lived love story to her probable arranged match, Himanshu Tyagi(Randeep Hooda), a cop from India. He shares with her, his adventures of trying to catch a masked thief, Devil, and that he is in Poland to catch him and stop him from accomplishing an unknown mission he is out for. They don't know that the two guys they are talking about are ONE!

Now it is for you to find out, that for which Kick did Devi Lal Singh, become the super thief Devil? Is it for money or he has a greater cause? What is his mission is Poland and would he be able to pull it off? Follows a magnificent journey of twists and turns. The action scenes have neat and clean execution. The canvas of the film is quite westernized and be it the sets in India or the very beautiful locales of Poland, if you stick onto the film for one hour, you wont get off that seat.

Performances:

Salman yet again shows that his magnetic persona and charisma are yet to stay. He is a treat to just watch and moreover for a change, he has acted competently utilizing this opportunity to show variation of his expressions. Jacqueline, apart from looking better than ever before, has delivered a decent performance. She has matured as an actor for sure. Randeep Hooda is flawless and super-efficient. He delivers a noticeable performance even while starring in a 'Salman Khan film'.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is outstanding. He is mischievous, has a weird smile(No! Laugh) and a never before seen style. He will definitely steal some praise out of your mouth. Mithun Chakraborty is in top notch form. Supporting cast has done well all the way.

Music:

On the whole, music is decent and has a couple of tunes to hum on the way back home, although the placement of the songs could have been better. Honey sings voice has reached Salman Khan's lip sync and that is an achievement for sure. My personal favorite was the Nargis Fakri's item number in the movie, also, she looked perfect for the song.

A piece of advice: Do not leave the theaters in the slow and dragging first 30-45 minutes. I was going to but if i did, sure would have regret it later. I have taken off a star for that drag though.

Verdict: ****

Kick is a magnificent, western looking, full entertainment film. You will blow whistles(if not others will), have the worth of your money and go back home with a smile. Its a sure shot blockbuster and will have the records rewritten. To quote hi dialogue to be literal, "Wo apni Eidee lene zaroor ayega".

Here is a trailer to catch a glimpse of how the film looks:
